I have a brand new dual core dell. I have a 1990's HP laserjet 4050 printer. I tried EVERYTHING to get these two to connect. It took a lot out of me and i almost gave up and was going to get a modern laserjet with usb.
until i found this gem, its vista compatible. turn your printer on, let it say ready and plug the adapter into the parallel port. Then turn your computer on, let it boot into windows and then plug the other end of the cable into your usb port. It will automatically find the printer and install all the drivers for it. I was VERY impressed as this literally took all of 2 mins to do.
Now i can print to my hearts content without worrying about going thru ink cartridges like crazy.
If you have a laserjet and want to run it on vista, this is the EASY and cheap way to do so.
