5.0 out of 5 stars The best bag...ever., November 15, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Everki Beacon Laptop Backpack with Gaming Console Sleeve, Fits up to 18-Inch (EKP117NBKCT) (Personal Computers)
I own an extremely big laptop (ASUS G73JH-X1). I could never find a bag that looked good and functioned properly. Lugging around a 12 lbs laptop with a messenger bag isn't smart.
This bag has plenty of room for my laptop and the pocket is lined with what can only be described as dead Muppet fur, which is as luxurious as it sounds. There are plenty individual pockets and all with what reminds me of a massacre on Sesame Street. As graphic as it sounds, my iphone, mouse, power supply, cooling stand, etc. are exquisitely caressed by what appears to be the flesh of Ernie.
There is even a rain cover to keep it from the elements! An amazing backpack. I don't know a lot about Everki, but I'm now a life long customer and will recommend this backpack to my friends and family.
The biggest con is the price, but the simple fact is you pay for expert craftsmanship and, come on, Muppet fur. I think it comes out to about 10% of the price of my laptop so it's worth it to keep it safe and sound. Looks cool and comfortable to wear. I love this bag.

I concur. The dead muppet fur analogy was what sold me. bought the bag for my asus g73jw right then and there.

I am wondering if I got a bad bag from Everki, my G73JW fits in it but it is tight up against the zipper on one corner of the laptop. Did your "ernie" pouch stretch at all or is your fit about the same? I worry about the lack of padding on the one corner.

It feels as if the bag does fit the form of my over sized laptop....maybe your laptop just doesn't fit as prescribed.

From the specs listed on Everki's site, technically this isn't big enough for the "thickness" of my G74...and from these comments it sounds like that's the case (I assume the G73's about the same dimensions).

My G73 fits with no real problem. Sometime it doesn't go in just right like described above and it's hard to zip, but if I jiggle it around and it goes in "right" I don't have any difficulty at all. I suggest picking up the bag by the handle and giving it a few gravity aided bounces until it gets in just right. I didn't have to stretch or modify my bag in any way to get this, it's just a little tricky to get the rubbery G73 in there perfectly.

I love this review! I could not stop laughing. Because of this, I'm looking at this for my ASUS G Series G53SW-XN1. From what I gather, mines just the smaller version of what you got, which I was also very interested in but went with what I could afford for now, esp since I tend to hook it up to a bigger monitor when I can too. VERY much in love with this review man! haha
