Fantasy not fictin,
This review is from: Calico Joe (Hardcover)
This short story would never have been published if it didn't have Gresham's name on it. It was a rip off. I think he must have working on this story, ran out of ideas and decided that his fans would buy it regardless. When I reached the ending I said "what? Is that it" What was the point of it all? Save your money.

Sorry you missed the relationship stuff, even if you may not like baseball.

Donald Denny says:
I agree with Paul. Liking baseball, which I do, is a must to understanding the feelings of the ballplayers here. The ending was heartrending and made me feel better about those in the book and about the the game. Gresham did a great job using real and imagined characters and situations.
