This review is from: Lost Cities & Ancient Mysteries of the Southwest (Lost Cities Series) (Paperback)
as other reviewers have said, Childress' books are not only fun to read, but they bring together so many stories that we've all heard of or seen on the great shows history channel, history international, nat geo, science channel...hell, even "unsolved mysteries"...put out.
Childress can have a tendency to put some waaaaaaaaay too personal comments in his books...not really alot, but more than i'd like to see. i really do NOT want to know about his shotgun kissing him hard.
also, this particular book has a quote from mark twain before it even starts up about idiots and proofreaders. i'm not sure what twain meant by the remark, but Childress would benefit from a proofreader and some word processing software that knows how to hyphenate words. it's very disconcerting when a sentence has words so close, you can barely tell it's not one big, gigantic word.
i would recommend this book to anyone who's ever heard about "Forbidden Archeology", Doc Noss or the Marfa Lights, just to name a few. this book has made me want to go get Childress' other books.
