3.0 out of 5 stars Warranty useless..., August 16, 2012
By
This review is from: Invicta Men's 1515 I Force Collection 18k Gold Ion-Plated Watch with Black Cloth-Covered Band (Watch)
I have enjoyed wearing this watch, especially since I wear my wristwatches on my right. There are very few left handed watches available at any price point.

All my watches are extremely well taken care of. I seldom wear one two days in a row and they are stored in either a watch winder or watch case, depending on the movement.

I have had this model for over two years and it had been trouble free until a few days ago. Then the small hour hand for the timer fell off. This was under normal wear. I had an extended warranty, so was not concerned. However, when I went to Invicta's site for info on getting the watch repaired, I found a number of concerns. One, you must prepay for shipping the watch back to you. And, they charge $28 for shipping. Plus, you are paying to ship the watch back to them. Also, I received a notice that the repair estimate was close to $40 if it is not covered by warranty. There are no guidelines as to way it would not be covered.

So, at a minimum, you are paying at least $40 for shipping both ways. Possibly another $40 in repair work. In addition, they say it will take 3 months to complete the work. Given how much I paid for the watch, this makes no sense at all. Why wait three months and end up paying close to the purchase price to get a repaired item back?

Unfortunately, this does not seem like a viable option and I can't recommend this company.
(NOTE: this entire series is essentially the same watch.)

I had the same problem with the hand falling off from my Invicta watch. It was a different series, but the same issues with thier worthless warranty. I suggest you change your rating to a "one star".

I have a question guys, and sorry for maybe a silly question, but I'm new in the watch world: So, if the watches you have noted above are essentially the same, how can I avoid the same problems that you guys had? How about this watch: Invicta Men's 3329 Force Collection Lefty Watch (http://www.amazon.com/Invicta-Force-Collection-Lefty-Watch/dp/B000FVE3BG/ref=reg_hu-rd_add_1_dp). It looks the same, but I don't see it on the list above. Is it the same or is it a different series? And if I should avoid this series, what other watches do you guys recommend that are BIG, preferably above 50mm.

I agree with your statements on warranty completely. I got a watch from invicta as a gift so I didn't get the original receipt for the purchase which makes my warranty pointless since I need proof of warranty and purchase. Just like you said it would take a couple of months to run tests and a whole bunch of things depending on what could be wrong with the watch. There's other things as well but I'd say (to anyone considering invicta) have a few watches in your rotation already because if your watch needs repair you'll be watch-less until you forget that you had one from invicta.
