This review is from: Culo by Mazzucco (Hardcover)
What a horrible book. I just bought this from Barnes and Noble. So glad I got it on a Black Friday discount deal.
I'm thinking since Sean Combs slapped his name on it, it may be about something. Well, it's not!!!
I can understand the negative reviews on this thing. There are so many photo manipulated shots that it truly takes away from the women. A bunch of artistic abstract garbage. If the book is supposed to celebrate the human form then let it. Just take the dag on picture. Stop with the post editing work. Oh well....too late now. These people printed it and it's on the shelves costing way more than its worth.
If you want a real book that celebrates the female form then get the Taschen "The Big Butt Book". There is nothing but pictures and it retails less than this crap.
Note: The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because of packaging.
In comparison to what you actually get in the book, the cover is truly deceiving.

This guy has no idea what he's talking about. This is more than just a butt book. It is artful and rich and goes places. Awesome landscapes from Arica and Vietnam and the desert. There's great architecture and design. If you just want Asses go by Hustler buddy. My wife loved this book because it was layered and had so many other reasons to enjoy it than just being some frat boys mentality publication. This world is so base at times and finally an artist does something that is tasteful and shows imagination. The book was done by Raphael Mazzucco as well by the way. P. Diddy only paid for it from what I heard which is even cooler about Culo. Artists supporting artists. Every page is an adventure. Love love love the Lady Gaga shot. Don't listen to this guy people. Buy it.

Sorry, can't agree with your angle, your tilt... while the world is, as you note, at times base, this book -- perfumed as it is -- hardly lifts itself above the squalor and fray. Alas, it's always difficult to take aim, score points at popular culture. If you enjoy it... that's enough... enjoy!

NOO... don't buy it!
It's called Culo... not national geographic explorer.
Yes, it has some good locations BUT the photographs are over stylized and the subjects don't even have what the book claims they do. Just an overhyped poor attempt at erotica. A 'big' book that lacks big butts.

G. Stapleton says:
Actually I do know what I am talking about. I happen to be an oil painter (portraiture) artist myself. These are just images that, like has been said before in other reviews, are just gimmicky overly stylized work. I love how novices of art can look at this in amazement. There is nothing 5 star about this book. Anyone can use Photoshop to manipulate pictures but if you want to do that choose a book title like "Stylized Culo" or something silly like that. There was a whole bunch of build up for this book for absolutely nothing. The cover is better than most of the content in this book.
