Great Together Toy,
This review is from: 4M Soda Can Robug (Toy)
While not educational in the sense that it teaches math or reading, this is a great science experiment! We had fun assembling it (gently, as the screws are very tight) and discussed how the energy moves through the batteries and wires.
The age suggestion is 8 years and I can't imagine that it's very exciting for kids that are old enough to build it themselves. I mean, really it's a soda can that vibrates across the floor.
But, for something to build together with your 4-6 year old...this is 4 stars!
One star off because the legs are pretty flimsy and have to be put "just so" in the plastic guides, but otherwise a ton of fun! Make sure to put the antenna out in front (instead of back as shown) and they'll serve to keep the Robug moving when it bumps into a wall!
There are only 3 legs...so try bending them to get a little more stability. It comes with two spare legs and screws, so don't be shy. Also, if you bend the front leg out too far the robug will go backwards, so watch out!
