Next Generation of Radio,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech Squeezebox Radio Music Player with Color Screen (Black) (Discontinued by Manufacturer) (Electronics)
The Logitech Squeezebox radio represents the next generation of radio listening. Instead of picking local signals off the air, this radio receives programming streamed from thousands of stations worldwide -- FOR FREE! Now, when I sleep late and miss Morning Edition on my local NPR outlet, I simply tune in another outlet in a different time zone and listen to the entire show. At dinner, we listen to a different classical station every night, just for fun. When I moved this radio to the bedroom, nearly 25 feet away from from my G router, the signal was nearly as strong as when it was just a few feet away. I love the graphic display, which to my surprise, shows images and graphics generated by the broadcast outlets. My wife wanted a combination FM radio-CD player. There is no CD player on this radio, at least in the conventional sense. But after a little bit of research, I found an online locker where I could store and retrieve audio files for FREE! So I ripped her CDs, uploaded the tracks to the online locker and play them on the radio JUST LIKE A CD PLAYER! This unit even offers controls that allow users to advance tracks, just like a CD player. Unbelievable. One more point: The audio quality rivals the Tivoli One radio that it replaced. Thank you Logitech! P.S. -- I also own a Grace Internet radio, which is equally awesome but relies upon the Reciva online site for content. The Squeezebox streams directly from the source.
