If you are a fan of Stuart Woods and his Stone Barrington novels you should know what to expect from both by now; an interesting crime, old friends and lovers, family, talk of airplanes and movie studios, etc. This one offers all of the above. I know some have been critical of Mr. Woods' latest endeavors, but I kind of enjoy that we get more than one a year these days. I usually read his books in one or two days and am thoroughly entertained. I like when Holly Barker and Lance Cabot are included. It's nice to hear what President Will Lee and his head of the CIA wife Kate are up to. I like that we've seen all of the characters age, gain and/or lose family members, get promoted at work, and develop their lives as people do. It's annoying when a series that spans as many books as this one does, stays forever suspended in time. The only complaint I have is that I really miss Stone and Dino's nights at Elaine's. Their dinners, as they try new locations, feel disjointed; though I'm guessing that is how Elaie's regulars feel as well. I'm hoping The new place sticks since it seems it met with Elaine's approval. At any rate, Stuart Woods remains one of the few authors whose books I buy as soon as they are released. I just can't resist checking in to see what everyone is up to.
