Mine Leaks too!,
This review is from: Hamilton Beach 10-Cup Brewstation 47374 (Kitchen)
*** Buy a BrewStation ONLY IF you are willing to expect about 6 months of service and KNOW a hot coffee flood can happen at any time because of a poor seal design at the bottom of the coffee tank! ***
Yesterday I setup my brew as usual, but when I returned to the kitchen for my first cup, ALL of the hot coffee dumped all over the counter top and on to the floor. Trust me, it was a REAL MESS! Many of the items on the counter were coffee stained or soaked and had to be thrown out. Dangerous too because I have a power strip behind the microwave and it was thoroughly soaked too.
New ~ this coffee station worked great and has just a few pieces to make it all happen. The only problem I had was with the coffee basket because it's so ill-fitting and fits only ONE WAY; it's a real time waster! When I finally memorized the correct orientation things got better. I liked that there is no pot or dispenser. It was coffee on demand by pushing a cup against a bar under the tank, nice.
Obviously Hamilton Beach BrewStations have a flawed seal design because so many other owners (See Google) have the same coffee-dumping problem!
I've owned my BrewStation almost nine months, but without the original receipt HB deemed my BrewStation out of warranty. Hamilton said they would replace the leaking coffee tank but it will cost me another $20! There is NO repair kit (dumb) and I have no other options except to throw the entire BrewStation out.
Hamilton Beach SHOULD admit that BrewStations have a design flaw, stand behind their products and offer a free (better designed) tank replacement! While the overall BrewStation design is good, I would never buy another because of the bad seals.
