This review is from: MONOPOLY Revolution (Toy)
Because of the negative reviews on here, I delayed buying this game for several months. Finally, I went through the negative reviews point by point and concluded that they do not apply to me. I went out and bought the game and decided that I should not have listened to the negative reviews.
Some people say that the old monopoly is better because it gives children practice at counting paper money. That is a dumb argument because I only played monopoly twice when I was little, yet I was the head of the class in math. If you need monopoly to practice counting you really should be doing your homework more instead of playing monopoly. I would say Monopoly Revolution is more realistic because it simulates how to handle money digitally in your bank accounts. The play device tells you how much is in your bank account every time you transact.
The play pieces are not as bad as people made it out to be. They look quite futuristic and better made than pieces in games like Monopoly City. As for people who complain about the dice, OMG did you run out of things to complain about?
"Chance" plays a much bigger role in this game. I find it quite fun as it can affect a subgroup of players such as sending them all to jail. The "force a deal" feature is great at moving the game along so the game doesn't last forever. The transactions done with the ATM cards do slow down the game a little, so does the Chance that you migt get after doing a transaction.
Overall I love the game as it adds more variety and unpredictability to the game while shortening the lenghth to a couple of hours. I will not be going back to the old Monopoly. Get this game if you like the future, don't if you are the type that complain about change all the time.
