Plastic is cheap, so why is the price so high?,

I loved this clock when I saw the pictures. What a clever design. This would look great hanging on the wall in the garage to go with the other automobile-themed decorations.
Then it arrived. I was underwhelmed when I removed it from the box. Cheap, plain gray colored plastic gear wheels. It would have been nice had they at least put that cheesy metallic like plating on the plastic wheels to give it the look of metal.
The only metal parts are the main trim ring (where you read the time), a couple support bars, and the cases that hold the batteries.
I expected a much better clock for $97.
Bottom line: you can purchase a really nice clock for this much money. Why settle for less unless you have to this unique looking design? This is worth about $20 to me. If the vendor wants to lower the price to that point, I'd repurchase it. I returned mine.
I've since received this clock: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KPQ8X8/ref=oss_product and it is fantastic! Much nicer in person than the photographs and a solid heavy clock that doesn't look like a pile of plastic.
