So far, so good,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 1080p HD Infrared Night Vision and Full Spectrum Camcorder - Ghost Hunting Camera (Camera)
Just received the Camcorder yesterday, and like the other reviewer, I mainly purchased to use for Ghost Hunting which I have yet to do, with this device in particular. It came very well packaged and is clearly "Brand New". Arrived as scheduled and is compact without being too small. Buttons are easy to see and find and I've tried almost all of them and they seem to work seamlessly, although i will review on buttons again once I've really put it to use. The touch screen IS EXCELLENT, I love it! The one thing I'm waiting to see is if my time and date show up as I record because i need it to whether on playback or during record, I don't care, but I need to see that in order to match up evidence my team catches on other Video and Audio - I assume if you can set it, it should be visible, but will let you know. It came with a nice soft case and all parts that were to be included, are. The last thing i need to check on is whether or not there is an online manual, because the print on the manual is small (no different than any other manual you receive with a technical device, but i have trouble with small print). Also, I emailed the seller before purchase, and they responded in 24 hours, very nice. Once i check this out in more depth, I may change my rating to the highest or not, but so far, so good!

Hi Jeff, thanks, I actually did a full test run and found that out. Appreciate it!

So I'm back, did a short test run of this product, specifically at night using the Full Spectrum and IR Features (see end of my review for details). First overall, I LOVE this Camcorder and the primary reason, use is intuitive and not overly complicated. Buttons and features, for the most part, are straight forward. I'm not a camera or camcorder EXPERT nor do I aspire to be, instead, I'm your average user who does not want a 1000 features I will never use. Everything I need, is easy to access: zoom/macro feature (great location on top of camcorder), stabilizer feature because I tend to blur photos/video without a little help from this feature, easy open/access to both battery and memory card, time and date stamp super easy "press setup" and then use touch screen (LOVE THE TOUCH SCREEN). The manual is good, only issue, and it's the same with all of the camera/camcorder menus, they tell you how to access a feature, but not what the function of the feature actually "does" so you'll need to look it up on the web. Ok, for my Ghost Hunter friends, good news, both Full Spectrum and IR WORK however, the IR is easy to find, but getting to Full Spectrum is NOT intuitive but it is there and here is the short answer, you'll have to play with it yourself: Menu Button, then on touch screen, scroll to icon of what looks like a light with a beam (also has a yellow moon next to it for night recording), tap "light/beam" this turns on IR (it automatically turns on night time recording-half moon icon). Once tapped, it will bounce you out to your main video screen, tap touch screen again and go to color wheel, chose "color"; this will give you pink full spectrum or you can choose the Green affect. I found I needed an extra IR Light or Full Spectrum light to gain an extra 10-20 feet of night vision, but that's typical for any IR/Full Spectrum camera/camcorder. The ad says you can switch to IR/Full Spectrum at the touch of a button, but that's not really true--i kept looking for a button to hit on the camcorder and if there is one, i have not found it. If someone out there has found something else, please share. I will be on a Ghost Hunt in May, and will update this review again, will include the hookup to TV or Laptop and let you know how good the recording is (may do it before then) hopefully with some evidence to further verify the camera's Night Vision usefulness. All in all, I LOVE THIS PRODUCT and would highly recommend.

Well, did 2 Ghost Hunts and this cam is GREAT, everything works as you'd expect and much better than you would ever believe, given the price. I plan to buy SEVERAL MORE. Ok, for the Ghost Hunts, 2 important notes; you will need STRONG extra IR lights for large rooms and pitch black spaces (like cemeteries), and unless you are buying a "flood IR light" i'd even say you need 2 lights at least 36 lights each. Also, get a spare battery and be sure both are fully charged. On my most recent Ghost Hunt, I caught an apparition peeking out from a doorway and then ducking back behind the door..FANTASTIC evidence! The only drawback to the camcorder, and maybe someone out there can correct me, when trying to playback Camcorder to TV via the HDMI cord, we can't find a way to control playback (no pause, rewind, slow down..nothing)..bummer. Otherwise, my love affair with this piece of equipment, continues!
