Engaging and a bit Different,

This review is from: The Gallows Tree (Kindle Edition)
I had read RJ Scott's work before and thought it was touching and well-written. The Gallows Tree's title is perhaps a bit misleading and I expected it to be a western. But being set in rural England turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I then was intrigued by the ghost story that seems to inhabit all the small English towns.
The story is not besotted with sex, as some of these novels are. (Oh btw, this books has some length to it, which is always something I appreciate.) But the sex scenes were well done and explicit. The characters are all, if not totally likable, were worth finding out about. The research on the area and time periods that run concurrently.
In short, I was very happy with this book, and would reccomend it to anyone--whether gay or straight--that would like to see a modern take on a ghost story.
