5.0 out of 5 stars Great on the Kindle Fire, November 21, 2011
This review is from: National Geographic Magazine (Kindle Edition)
I was initially hesitant about subscribing to the magazine on my Kindle Fire, despite how much I love the print version, because of all the negative reviews. Then I noticed the reviews were from those who had other Kindle versions. With a free 14-day trial I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. On the Fire, it's just like reading the print version ... full color spread with all the pictures and articles.

Thank you for posting this review! I didn't even consider subscribing to this magazine until I got the Kindle Fire for Christmas. I too was hoping the negative reviews were due to older versions of the Kindle, and I am so glad to see your positive reaction here.

I too was putting off subscribing to National Geographic on my Kindle due to all the negative reviews I have read. I got my Kindle Fire just before Christmas and just picked up the 14 day trial last week and couldn't be happier. Easy to read, pictures look amazing, no complaints at all.

Does Kindle keep previous issues or do previous issues disappear each month? I'm assuming that like books, they are there to stay but you know what they say about assuming... ;)

Also, can you enlarge the pictures? Or are they set at one size?

I just want to be sure I understand this before I leap to the subscription via Kindle Fire mode.

I tried out the Kindle version on my iPad and my Google Nexus 7. Full spread on the iPad, but only one picture per article on my 7" Nexus. This certainly doesn't make sense, since the Nexus has the same screen size as the Kindle Fire.
