A great conversation-starter,
This review is from: Red: Teenage Girls in America Write On What Fires Up Their LivesToday (Paperback)
I'm the mother of a teenage daughter and this book was a wonderful conversation starter for us. We both read it and had several very amusing conversations about many of the essay topics. It was really funny and interesting to compare our reactions and for me, it brought back so many things that I thought about or felt as a teenage girl. For my daughter, she talked about some of the things that bother her and was quite surprised to discover that I had many of the same feelings and anxieties when I was her age.
'Red' is a wonderful, thought-provoking book and a real joy to read. I'd recommend it for any parent raising teenage girls.
