Bad Asics shoe,
This review is from: ASICS Men's GT-2000 Running Shoe (Shoes)
I had bought 2-3 pair of the 2100 series shoes per year for the last 5-6 years for 15-20 miles per week of light running. My first and only run in the new 2000 resulted in knee and back problems that have taken me weeks of workouts (with a different shoe) to eliminate. The heel is narrower on this shoe and the material in the foot bed is more concentrated, spongier, but the result is far less support. Since the injury I can't even walk in them comfortably. Very frustrating as I would have happily kept buying them every year and had great results, but now I've tried this "update" and gotten hurt and will not buy them again. I can't imagine Asics tested these with their loyal customer base before marketing them, as I read all over the net about other runners experiencing similar problems.

As long time Asics wearer, I agree with this evaluation. I ordered two pair of Asics GT 2000s (supposedly the Asics GT-2100 series replacement) and found them to have a small toe box for my 4E wide feet. Apparently, the heel also rode lower as I soon strained my Achilles and had to discontinue walking/running for 6 weeks. Went back to my older, fairly well worn GT 2100s upon return to exercise. I am going to give the Brooks 13s a try (per recommendations on this and other sites) as I must soon discard the wearing/worn out GT 2100s that have been pressed back into temporary service.
