Dont know who tested this case...,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nintendo DSi XL - 20 In 1 Special Edition Silver Starter Kit (Video Game)
I am not sure who tested this case but they must have been using a regular Nintendo DSi. The DSi XL DOES NOT FIT in this case. I could have forced it in but it would have probably ripped the case (which is a soft material). My daughter would have gotten frustrated with it and never used it. I ordered the black model for my son and it fit correctly and the outer part of the case is actually hard rubber.

Maybe you received a bad model? I've posted two pictures of my DSiXl seated in the case, both upside down and rightside up. It fits perfectly.

This same thing happened to me! I bought this for my daughter as a Christmas gift. Her blue DSi XL will NOT fit into the case. I am ordering the matching blue one. I bought the bronze set for my son, and his DSi XL fits in that case perfectly.

Our burgundy color set came ready to fit the DSi XL as is, but the blue color set we ordered later included a thick, well-formed, foam insert (already set in the bottom half) so that the case could also be used to safely and snuggly fit the smaller size standard DS. This foam insert lifted right out, it was not glued or permanently fixed in place, but it does fit well and tight; snug enough that it will not fall out on its own, or go back in without a little pressure. Maybe this foam insert was included with your second set, too, and somehow got "stuck" or became fused to the material below or at sides. Hopefully so, and hopefully it can be lifted out with a gentle peel and pressure to make for a usable item after all? Best wishes to you!
