This review is from: TOMY Constructables Motorized Building Vehicle Playset (Toy)This toy is a ton of fun. We purchased it for our 3.5 year old, but the 6 and 2 year olds play with it just as much. It is so simple for them to build vehicles, we can get a little peace and quiet! Speaking of quiet, the clicking sound is very annoying and loud, however...if you remove the 4 screws from the main piece (with the battery compartment) carefully, you will find the culprit. There is a plastic piece that clicks against one of the gears and is held on by one screw. Simply remove it and put the top back on. Tada. Don't let the noise keep you from this cool toy.

Thank you! Our kids love this toy so much but the clicking was driving us insane. I should have thought of doing something about it. Now that I have this is the perfect toy.

I had removed the cover to check for a source of the clicking before but stupidly missed that the "culprit" is actually screwed into the bottom of the red piece that lifts off after you remove the screws. It's easy to miss if, in an effort to keep the screws contained, you don't turn this piece over. Googled "tomy clicking loud" and got this review... thanks Angie for confirming my suspicions and prompting me to leave no stone unturned :)

Thank you so much for the fix! I returned one thinking it was broken and was surprised to find the same problem with the second. I would have returned it if it wasn't for your fix. My son loves it, but the noise was driving me nuts!!

Thanks for the tip, definitely a sanity saver! Definitely be careful when separating the two sides. I pulled them apart too quickly and knocked the internal gears out of place. It took me half an hour to figure out how all the pieces went back together.

Wonder post Angie, I was instructed to figure out why it was clicking by my wife and before opening it I read your review and the 3 minute fix made me look like Tim the Tool man. I think the family even cheered when I was done. Thanks again. BTW. Great toy after the quick fix.

I bought the dinosaur version for my 4 year old. Less than 5 minutes after putting the battery in, his older brother was complaining about the noise while taking a bath UPSTAIRS. That noise is annoying. Why would they sell it like that? Anyhow, thanks for the tip. You saved me a trip back to the store.

My 4 year old son got a set of these for his Birthday from his Godmother and he loves them.. I have to admit the clicker thing was driving me crazy but his Godmother said there was something on Amazon on how to remove it. Thank you so much for posting about the removal of the noise maker.. I saw a review from someone else who stated the toy wasn't good and fell apart, We have no issues and it's the perfect toy for any child who likes to create different vehicles from all the pieces. We received the toys in May and they still work like brand new even after a 4 year boy has banged them around. We are now looking to get the Dino set... LOVE them!!!

Until now, I was too lazy to pull it apart to look for it. Like normal, I tried to complicate the process once I got it open. Hopefully I can help other in the future but recapping Todd's point....The white plastic piece you need to remove is INSIDE THE RED PIECE THAT LIFTS OFF AFTER YOU REMOVE THE SCREWS. Please, Please, read this part (because I didn't)... you DO NOT have to remove the gears and battery compartment to get to the piece.
