This review is from: Sony DVPSR510H DVD Player (Upscaling) (Electronics)
This DVD player has excellent up-scaling quality. The color quality is superior to the Philips dvp-3560/F7 it replaced. It almost looks like blu-ray quality. It plays dual layer discs without a hiccup. I used the digital out for sound and it is superior to the Philips as well. If are used to a display on your DVD player like I am there is none, but you can display the time with a touch of a button. It is a really small DVD player, but like I said in my review title "Excellent Quality". You will be very happy with this purchase.

Can you please tell me if this model will play CDs? Also, will you please tell me if it has a full-sized Remote? Im shopping for a friend, and need to be able to play CD books, and dont want another little tiny remote like he has.

Yes... this model does play CDs. I just tried it out. However it did not have a CD menu come up like my old Magnavox did. The remote is mid-sized. It is not a teeny tiny remote. I hope this is helpful.

Larry, What does "upscaling" mean?

It means it makes Standard Definition DVDs look like HD (better).

If you have a HD 1080 TV using a HDMI cable from this upscale DVD player the quality is way better than a standard DVD player with RCA cables. The only thing better is blu-ray.

Does DVP-SR510H have the 'Freeze-frame' and 'Frame-by-frame advance' features?
