This review is from: Assassin's Creed I & II (Video Game)
I love the Assassin's Creed series and was so surprised when I found this, as it's almost too good to be true. ACII is my favourite of the series, and I would have paid this price for that game alone, so the first AC was a bonus.
I have to admit I have yet to play through the first game, even though I've finished all the others. It's not for everyone, but those who want the complete story from the beginning should definitely play it. The setting is, as far as I know, unique in video games, and while there are quite a few imperfections, it's otherwise not a terrible game. Bit repetitive, but if you play it in short bursts it should be fine.
The second game, on the other hand, I blew through in a few days because it's just so hard to put down. It's more colourful than the first game, for one (it is set in Renaissance Italy, after all), and not just in the sense that you can now dye your robes. They didn't make three games about Ezio (the protagonist) for nothing. It's much more polished than the first game and it also feels a lot bigger, although areas are blocked off at the beginning of the story and are unlocked as you progress through the storyline. The free running and climbing feels smoother, and the assassinations are more fun, since the parts leading up to them aren't the same mini-missions over and over again.
TL;DR Unique settings, fun gameplay, but not for everyone.
