Thanks for your cat video review. I'm waiting to receive my Flip Ultra 2nd Generation Camcorder. I'm getting the white one to match my white Macbook. Your video gave me more of an idea as to the sound when you are talking while you are behind the camera and not in front of it. Too bad your cat didn't meow while in front of the camera. Anyways, the other videos here on Amazon seem to have good sound when you are in front of the camera. And thank you for showing what the Flipshare software looks like. It's interesting to see that the software includes background music also. Thanks again for your video review.

Hi, thanks for the kind words on the review. The microphone is on the front of the Flip, and yes the cat would not oblige that day -- but I can say that you will get good, clear sound on the video from subjects in front of the lens.

Thanks for taking the time to make this very helpful & informative video review. I think I'll get one. Great looking cat BTW.

Very HELPFUL review! It's is "spot on" to see this item "in action" as opposed to just reading written comments. Based upon your review, I'll be purchasing one of these. Looks perfect to take on vacation. Again, thank you very much for your A+ presentation/review.

I don't know whether you're still following this thread these several months later, but I just came upon it. Thank you for your review. Your cat video had a very considerable amount of camera shake in it, so much so that I would definitely consider paying more for a camera with more effective image stabilization. Have you looked at the Amazon posting and can you confirm that the shake there is what you have on your local image? Thanks again.

The camera shake is all mine, but then I wasn't trying very hard to contain it. There is no image stabilization -- if this is a big issue for you, then you should get a larger, more expensive camera with image stabilization. The Flip is designed to be simple, good quality, casual and fit in your pocket or bag, and it does a great job given those constraints. If you want more control and more quality, you should get a different camera.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds like you're happy with the device within those parameters. Since they are mine also, I'll probably go with the Flip after reading and mulling a little more. It's funny. I bought my first camcorder 20 years ago. The 8 mm Sony's were all the rage, replacing the shoulder-mounted VHS suitcases. I paid 1,000 1989 dollars for one. Seems like the Middle Ages now. Thanks again for your review. And it IS a cute cat.

Great job, thanks for including the software as well. You were able to show the camera in action, the basics and the finished product in less time than reading a long drawn out typed review. Plus we were able to see and and hear what we are buying, nicely done. Keep up the good work.
