Do you own it? Do you even own the A900 or the 5D II? What are you basing your findings on? Do you know that Canon has their equivalent camera available for $7999.00? Saying another camera is "better" is totally subjective and without any substance. For someone like myself, who is a pro and can afford this camera and is considering it, your review is nonsense and worthless. This is the useless dribble that is found on fanatic forums, not for serious reviews of equipment by people WHO OWN IT and KNOW what they are talking about, so others can make a judgment decision to purchase this product. Once again, DO YOU OWN IT? And what are you basing this shallow review on?

You're obviously an ignorant troll. This camera is getting amazing reviews from professional photography publications, and it's this camera that landed Nikon the #1 spot in '08. You're talking out your arse.

It's obviously a great camera. There's no room for 1 star reviews because you don't like the price (Don't buy it?) Rate it 4 stars, and say price is too high, but only if you own it should you be reviewing it. Also Drifter, not all reviews are paid. That's a pretty ignorant post considering he never mentioned which reviews he was referring to.

I would buy D3x not only for its outstanding performance and 24.5 MP, but also for the great Nikon lenses - the best value in the world today. For example, the 14-24mm f2.8 beats the hell out of any wide-angle Canon lens and I am not even going to mention Sony lenses, because they simply can not compete at this level. What is the use of the greatest camera of all times, if it has no usable lenses?

As to performance, I tried and compared all three of the cameras mentioned here and frankly Nikon D3x is way, WAY ahead on all counts. No one in their right mind can honestly say that either Sony or Canon have the "same performance" - such a person is either a liar or a fool. I already own D700 and D90. Both are great performers. Some day, D3x will also grace my bag with its presence.

I did read your other reviews and it seems you have something against Nikon and unfortunately you're writing something which is not true for this camera and other Nikon camera as well OR bottom line you dont know what are you talking about. Please "try" not to spread rumors or at least substantiate your opinion with logic and weight like mentioned by pretty much everyone who commented.

Frankly it really does not matter which machine you drive as long as enjoy it - may it be a Geo metro as you mentioned or a Formula one like this camera. Additionally just wait little more and you will see Nikon and Canon to introduce another dimension of cameras in Q4/09 or Q1/10 - have fun sharing your opinion then after you buy/use 'em - will wait :-)

LOL!!! Yes, why don't you go to the Fisher Price store and get a nice pink kiddies camera for $25? It will be the same quality as the D3x for sure, I promise...

It's quite obvious that this person does not own this camera. They probably sit around all day wondering why every picture they take, is a picture of THEIR own eye!

Whether Omar is a prankster having fun at the expense of serious photographers or just a simple or very young person trying to express an opinion, the fact remains that it is unproductive to bring out the brick bats. If he's a prankster, he's gotten the reaction he seeks, and if he's a kid or simple minded you all have treated him badly for his attempt to express an opinion---no matter how silly it may sound. Owners of these amazing cameras should be using them and not beating up on the likes of Omar.

Sony has some great Zeiss lenses, which are as good, if not better, than anything Nikon has. Look up,

CZ 24-70 F2.8
CZ 16-35 F2.8
CZ 85mm F1.4
CZ 135mm F1.8
Sony 70-200 F2.8
