I won't copy the entire article, but here are some relevant quotes:

FANS of one of the greatest sitcoms in history, you finally have cause to rejoice: Chuckles the Clown is, once again, going to bite the dust, and this time he's doing it on DVD.

What knocked the series off the fast track, according to Steven Feldstein, senior vice president for corporate and marketing communications at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, was a glutted marketplace. "We looked at the landscape of the TV-to-DVD business and stepped back," he said. "The other studios were dumping stuff that nobody wanted onto DVD. I mean, `What you talkin' 'bout, Willis?' Come on. People were dumping everything."

This May [Oprah Winfrey] devoted an hour of her show to a reunion of the entire surviving original cast, complete with a replica of the WJM set. During the show Ms. Winfrey wept with joy.

Fox got the message and has now committed to releasing all three remaining seasons, covering episodes from the fall of 1974 to the spring of 1977.

I have been waiting for ages for the next Mary Tyler Moore releases. This gives me hope that it might actually happen. When I see some of the shows that are released, I am so amazed because they are so inferior to the Mary Tyler Moore series. The moment these are released, I will be on Amazon buying them.

I can't understand the shoddy treatment "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" has received by those who decide what goes on DVD and when! There should never have been any question about the marketability of this wonderful series. I bought Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 as soon as they became available and, frankly, I'm TIRED of waiting for seasons 5, 6, and 7!!!! But wait I will because I have no choice!!!! There is soooo much tripe on DVD and so many inferior old shows on cable, but try to find Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, or the first Bob Newhart show on ANY of the cable stations. Both "Nick At Nite" and "TV Land" have become little more than junk heaps for bad old shows. When they do put a decent rerun on, they overdo it by showing several of them in a row, leaving no room to rerun favorites like Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, or Bob Newhart. As a result, DVD's are the only option...and so we wait, and wait, and wait!!!!! "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" received a truckload of emmys during its run and the writing and acting have stood the test of time. Mary and the gang and their fans deserve better!!!!

I love The Mary Tyler Moore show so much. I am on disiability and have waited so long for the rest of the show. I am so pleased to find out that Fox is finally going to release the greatest show that has ever been on television.
