This is not the same size as the canon NB-6L!! Be careful!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Maximal Power DB CAN NB-6L Replacement Battery for Canon Digital Cameras/Camcorders (Electronics)
This battery lasts just as long as the original. Unfortunately it's too big for the SD1200IS. It fits in, but it takes a bit of forcing. Guess I should have known better. When it came time to remove it it wouldn't come out. The canon battery simply slid right out, but this one I literally had to pry the top open and use needle nose pliers to grab the piece I pried open and pull the battery out. I'm luck I didn't break my new camera. Amazon needs to let uesrs know that this is not an aftermarket replacement for the NB-6L. It make work ok in some cameras, but it absolutely is not the same size as the original and at least in the sd1200 it WILL NOT work and could harm your camera.

Be careful with MaximalPower camera batteries.
I had the OPPOSITE size problem with a different MaximalPower battery intended for my Olympus Stylus 7030. . .When installed in the camera, it was a hair too short to make connect with the camera's power contacts. The original Olympus battery has NO hint of this problem. I exchanged it for another and had the same problem. AND the MaximalPower model number for the battery I bought contains the model number for the Olympus battery used in my camera so I didn't order the wrong battery.
I exchanged for a 2nd battery rather than return it and buy a different no-name brand because of MaximalPower's high star ratings for the battery I bought. . .I thought my issue was a fluke -- It wasn't.
I called the customer service number on the battery's package and the rep. was totally clueless about any size compatibilty problems. Strangely enough, the rep. told me to return it and buy a different brand.
By the way, 5+ stars for Amazon's return policy on my battery exchange. At least I received the 2nd battery free with no hassle and they paid return postage on the returned battery. Only problem was Amazon didn't seem to care why the battery was returned, which doesn't address the obvious problem the manufacturer has meeting camera battery specs.
Anyway, I kept the second batttery, worked around the problem by building up the end with tape and it works fine. (Again, this comment is about a similar battery problem with MaximalPower BUT for a different battery.)

It works well and fits well in the Canon SD1300is, which requires the NB-6L battery.

I'm glad it worked out for you, my guess is they build them very close to the exact size of a normal nb-6l and in most cases it works, but not with my camera. Also this was 2 years ago when I purchased, they could very well have fixed the issue by now.
