4.0 out of 5 stars good but should have been better, November 13, 2011
This review is from: Heavenly Christmas (Audio CD)
Let me first say that I couldn't be a bigger fan. She sounds good on this as she always does, but I wish David Foster could have been the producer again. Some songs I had to blast the volume just to be able to hear her clearly. In prior albums as lavish as some of the orchestrations were they never overwhelmed her voice. Also I think her forte is in songs with slower tempos which allows us to enjoy the quality of her voice. SOme of the songs on the album I thought were paced way too fast for her. All in all I still like the album and recommend it although it didn't blow me away the way the other 2 albums(and especially the blu-ray DVD) did for these reasons.

She is still awe-inspiring and we have a floor level seat to see her in Vegas next month, but I think the production around her could have been better.

This is an impressive album. The orchestra is awesome, every instrument and they compliment Jackie's voice and enhance her soprano tessitura. She has beautiful pitch and control. I would say, if anything, some of the songs were too slow for her style vs too fast. Yes, the orchestra was just a bit overpowering in parts but her vocal range and incredible ability to hit notes spot on bring an angelic magic to each song. I too hope that Richard Foster will be a part of a future Christmas release as it seems that when he produces Jackie's music it is something really wonderful. I give this album five stars because it once again demonstrates Jackie's incredible gift to sing and inspire her listeners through her God-given talents

Heavenly Christmas was originally released as a "Walmart Exclusive" Nov. 1, 2011, both online and in their stores. I bought mine on the first day of release and before they even made it to the shelves! It was only later that they have made it here to Amazon.

Thank you. This has been very confusing. I'm heading straight to Wal-Mart

I just heard Jackie sing "Believe" from this album on Leno. I must have understood three words. Kept turning the volume up, up, up, up. Didn't help. Sounded like mush! Jackie is a true phenom, but something wasn't right. I've heard her sing a lot of songs and they've all been crystal clear, brilliantly done and beautiful, except for this one. I hope this gets corrected soon. Update: Just listened to the album version on YouTube. Not perfect, but much clearer and very enjoyable.
