Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Amazon Kindle Touch Lighted Leather Cover, Wine Purple (does not fit Kindle Paperwhite) (Accessory)
I preordered my Kindle Touch and Lighted cover on September 28th. Got my kindle day early but case shipment has been a mess. First there was no date for shipping. Then I got an estimate of December 22nd and in about 3 hours got a follow email that my case was to be delivered today.
Case showed up an hour ago and as soon as it came in I attached my KT to it. I had original K3G with lighted cover before this one and its definitely a better design then earlier version. Kindle Touch weighs 7.3 ounces and Cover 5.4 ounces so its not light weight.
This case is a TPU style case which has hard plastic back. Leather is not of high quality like the premium brands that exist. I actually like the back design compared to the previous model as kindle is attached inside it and not connected via 2 clips on the side. Light position is much improved and provides more even light. Also its easier to operate then previous model. Price is still high for what it offers but not much u can do about it.
So overall I do like the case, Don't like the price and find this model much better than earlier one.
one thing to note is they no longer have a little strap that keeps the case closed. Right now its fine but not sure what is going to happen once i start folding the front cover back. It might become loose and start flapping too much. It would have been nice to have either a magnet or a strap to hold it closed

Are there openings on back for the speakers? I was thinking that the sound coming from the speakers could get muffled if there weren't any openings.

Nope no openings. the only opening is in the middle of the bottom part where power and headphones jack, usb connect are. I don't listen to music so for me its not an issue

No openings for the speakers, but I played an audio book and it sounded okay.

I just played one too and it sounds like an automated person which is what the "people" talking are supposed to sound like.

Is it hard to remove the Kindle after it has been in the cover?
In reply to an earlier post on Nov 26, 2011 8:26:49 AM PST
While it's not impossible, it is harder. I wish it were easier to remove but it isn't.

it takes a bit of muscle to remove it but its nothing hard

Thanks to you both. :) It won't damage the Kindle right?

I just got this cover for my KT and wondered how do you get it on? It seems too small?
