Required reading for anyone connected to a startup community,
This review is from: Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City (Kindle Edition)
In much the same way that Brad's book "Venture Deals" laid bare the mechanics of the venture capital/startup process, "Startup Communities" diagrams and details the pieces and players required to make a startup community work.
I read tons of business books, including lots about startups. Most seem like magazine articles stretched to book length written by industry observers, not participants. "Startup Communities" is the opposite: it's crammed with ideas and written by Brad and a host of insiders. These are the folks who are actually building startup communities, and their lessons are invaluable.
Whether you're a leader of a feeder (which is defined in the book and turns out to be something very different than I would have thought) I recommend this book highly.
