Derivative book with a great ending,
This review is from: The Book of Lies (Hardcover)
I'm a sucker for a good ending. That's why this book gets three stars instead of two. The plot is somewhat hackneyed, and so reminiscent of The DaVinci Code that I almost expected them to flee to Scotland instead of Cleveland. Looking at it now, my guess is that the author whipped this one out quickly in hopes of a movie deal-the homeland security characters in particular read like movie/TV stereotypes.
But the ending, awesome, especially if you love books. I'm still smiling about it now, a few weeks later.
So don't go out of your way to buy this one-I found it in the lending library on vacation. I nearly abandoned it a couple of times, but I'm glad I stayed to the end. Even so, just three stars.
