Hard To Understand,
This review is from: Modern Times (Audio CD)
The music for Modern Times, although a little ragged around the edges and not as tight as it could be, is really very pleasant and quite enjoyable. I must say that I was extremely disapponted that the CD insert did not contain the words to the songs. I have listened to it numerous times, as has my family, and there are just a whole bunch of places that we can't even begin to figure out the lyrics. I'm sure Dylan has lots to say, and we've certainly tried to figure out what that might be, but just exactly how much of a treasure hunt do we have to go on here?

simple fix...I'll let you in on this little secret. There's this thing called the 'internets' or something like that. Bobdylan.com to be exact. Click on 'music', then 'modern times', then the song you'd like the lyrics to. Genius, he does it again..don't tell nobody though, obviously he's trying to hide them.

Paul, Good review. I appreciate your comments. This is an okay outing, but not overly interesting. I'm surprised at how many 5-star ratings there are. When McCartney puts out a new set, he usually gets lots of criticism. Good work!

Oh Paul...I am an avid Dylan fan and I'll agree this album didn't hit me like a frying pan over the head like some of his other stuff but if "Workingman's blues" isn't a clue as to what this album is "talking about" I don't know what is. Dylan is a poet...his lyrics paint a picture and it ain't paint by numbers. Get it?
