This review is from: VideoSecu Fake Security Camera CCTV Home Surveillance Dummy IR Infrared Bullet Camera with Flashing Light 1RE (Electronics)
Bought 5 of these to put up around the house. Looks realistic enough to fool most people. However, not sure what effect it will have in darkness, since it doesn't have a blinking red light. I initially opted to get these because those with blinking lights required frequent changing of batteries & the areas that these were to be mounted presented a problem when changing batteries. I gave it only 3 stars because of poor design by the manufacturer. An electrical wire is mounted on the back of the camera but you have to use your imagination to determine what to do with it. I decided to drill a small hole into the plastic mounting base, stick the wire through that hole, tie a knot on the open end so one couldn't pull it back out of the hole & then mounted it onto the wall. Perhaps the manufacturer could have pre-drilled a hole or even supplied an instructional sheet with suggestions on mounting & placement of this wire to make it look realistic, even to the trained eye.
Updated 6/21/14: It appears visually & by the product description that the manufacturer has changed the design of the camera or somehow there is a glitch in the system & my review is being assigned to another camera. The camera that I bought has a silver body & did not contain a flashing light. Furthermore, the original plastic tubing that represents the electrical wiring is no longer visible. Overall, just by the image, it looks more realistic. However, I won't change my star rating because this is definitely not the camera I reviewed initially.

Thank you, your comments are helpful ---but I'm a little confused. The title of this product includes the words "with flashing light." But you indicated that you decided not to get a unit with blinking lights. So does "flashing" mean something other than "blinking" in this instance?

Sorry, I didn't realize that you had posted a question. Unfortunately, Amazon didn't alert me to your query. I believe the problem lies with the manufacturer switching the product on me. The camera that I reviewed is not the the camera pictured. The camera that I purchased did not have blinking lights & the body was silver. Furthermore, the rubber tube that is attached to the camera to mimic a cable isn't even present in this new version. This is a completely different product.
