BE AWARE... this cable WILL NOT charge your iPhone,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is advertized as a data transfer cable and guess what it works to transfer data. If you think since it looks exactly like the $30 cable from Apple it will also charge your iphone....IT WON'T.

Bill Gallagher says:
the reason it does not charge your phone could be related to the USB port you are using on your computer, some usb ports do not provide power.

Can someone verify that a Mac's USB port with this wire could charge and transfer data to an iPhone 4?

These cables also don't charge my ipod touch 4 but will charge an old ipod. not a usb issue as I swap in the apple cord and it works fine (but an old apple cord won't work, there were changes in the charge situation in product development)

I can confirm that I am having issues with this cable as well. It is not charging my iphone 3gs, and I have the original Apple cable to test both cables in the same port. My original still works, and this one does not. It says "charging not supported" on my iphone when I use this cable. May be luck based on which model of cable you get from a vendor and what you normally use to charge your device.
