Wildly entertaining and inspiring,
This review is from: Profiles In Courageousness (Kindle Edition)
I'll confess that I picked up my copy of Profiles in Courageousness just before boarding an airplane. It was a particularly difficult day in my life, and I need a quick pick-me-up to turn things around, if only for a few hours. Representative Kimble does not disappoint with this carefully crafted retelling of his difficult struggle to gain a seat in the halls of government. An elderly woman seated next to me on the plane, after noticing my deep engagement with the text, asked me what kind of literature could make a young grasshopper like me read for three consecutive hours. I shared a few drops of wisdom about the Representative, including his unique take on push polling, innovative use of robo calls, and insights into C Street. "Seems a lot better than that Romney character," she remarked. But what really sealed the deal for this octogenarian was the photograph donning the cover of "Profiles in Courageousness." Rep. Kimble, with is dashing good looks, mesmerizing smile, and eyes of glory, not only has the kind of great ideas that will help America move into the 21st century, he also possess the undeniable sexiness that made "Magic Mike" a major hit among the female crowd. Sure, the good Rep. from California's fightin' 54th has stumbled a few times in his young career, but we can count on Jack to get up, dust himself off, and get back on the horse. This book, as the title indicates, certainly is the profile of a young American hero.
