I really enjoyed this book. The action was fast paced and the world of the Uppers and the Scrubs was interesting. You could really get into the world of Inside, the endless corridors, pipes, and ducts, and the teeming, crowded Scrubs. The concept of an enclosed society with no clue as to what they are in or even why was intriguing. Snyder keeps you guessing, is it a spaceship, a giant machine, an enclosed city... are there more Insides on the Outside?
My only issue (and this is just me personally) was the concept of time in the book. The weeks and centiweeks kept me from really having a sense of time passing. It was hard for me to keep track, like how long ago Broken Man was captured, or how old everyone was. That's just me and my number phobia though :P
The character of Trella is a lot like Snyder's other lead characters, a bit of a damaged loner who gets swept up in events sort of despite herself. What should have been an easy trip into the pipes to retrieve Broken Man's property turns into a world-changing chain of events, for the people of Inside and for Trella personally.
If you have enjoyed the author's other series (Fire Study and Storm Glass etc.) then I think you will like Inside Out.
