Good starting place for anti car thinking,
This review is from: Stop Signs - Cars and Capitalism on the road to economic, social and ecological decay (Kindle Edition)
I picked this book up because it was included in the middle lending library and honestly I didn't expect too much. However, the book outdid my expectations by far.
This book is an expose on the ills of car culture and how we got here. There are lots of details and statistics interspersed with anecdotes of the difficulties of living car free. The author tackles the issue from every angle, painting a complete picture.
I really enjoyed everything I learned from this book. I rated it down a star only because it was a tad but preachy at times and had some editing errors that detracted from the reading. Overall, an important read and inspiring for someone who wants to reduce their environmental impact and learn about what can and needs to be done to get out of our car centered society.
