In the spirit of full disclosure, I enjoy a good pun. As any fan of comedy can explain, the trick to making humor successful is often context and timing. And yes, I'm including puns in the category of humor. You can wipe that smirk off your face! ;)
In this work, you will discover the complete range of humor - from good to bad. Some of the puns give your diaphragm a good work out because they make you laugh so hard. There are some jokes in here you just shouldn't miss. Some of the jokes are old news, some fall flat, and some are in poor taste. For the ones that fall a little flat, I suspect they just lose something in translation from the oral to the written word, and they would be much more interesting in person.
But this work is presented as a history teaching tool. In the end, it doesn't matter how a student remembers the facts behind the events, as long as they understand and remember the concepts. To that end, the author has created a work that has succeeded in transforming some data that may seem to be historical trivia (to some people), into events that are meaningful to the history of the U.S.A. The value of a teaching tool lies in the tool's ability to aid in student retention of content. Even when it's corny, this teaching tool will help students achieve that goal. And that is good.
