5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect White Balance for unbeattable price!, February 1, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mennon White balance lens cap 52mm (Electronics)
I heard about the photojojo's white balance lens cap but didn't want to spend $45 on what might be a gadget so I decided to spend $1 on this one instead and then buy the Photojojo one later on. I'm so glad I did because this cap is awesome and I will not buy the $45 one as this one is great!

Unlike another reviewer I do not get really close to my subject to measure the WB. I just measure it from the exact point that I will shoot my photo at the same focal length and unfocused. Then I shoot my picture and the difference with the auto WB is amazing.

The cap does not feel cheap at all and I will keep it in my camera bag at all time.
I highly recommend the purchases and couldn't find a con even if I tried!

B. Ormiston says:
The other reviewer wasn't getting close to the subject to adjust the WB, they were using the camera ( set to aperture priority mode ) in conjunction with the WB Cap to gain a proper exposure. The reason they needed to get that close to the subject was to use the camera's internal meter as an incident meter, not a reflective one. Using it in the above manner allows to get a reading of the light hitting the subject instead of the light reflecting off the subject.
