This review is from: Rage Is Back: A Novel (Hardcover)
I read stuff mostly by dead people or folks with PhDs because I'm nerdy by nature (not cuz I hate cha!), but I can honestly say that Mansbach is one of the few current novelists--or writers for that matter--that I always check for and can't wait to read what he puts out next. (You were 4 days late, Amazon, with this book, btw! And I'm a PRIME member!). This book is classic Mansbach: absurd, outlandish, hilarious, nuanced, insightful--and never empty with ironic postmodern bs. He also doesn't prostitute graffiti out to the novel (and I mean to *this* novel nor to the novel as a literary form), which often happens when artists (not just writers) attempt to create works like RAGE IS BACK. As an English teacher, scholar, and hip-hop head, I really liked this book.
