5.0 out of 5 stars genuine Motorola battery, March 4, 2010

Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Motorola DROID and DROID II 1300mah Standard Battery (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this battery direct from Amazon. I do not trust the 3rd party sellers; none of whom appear to be authorized Motorola resellers. Counterfeit cell phone batteries are widely available for cheap prices, but who knows what quality you are getting. Cell phones have been known to catch fire or explode and manufacturers usually blame counterfeit batteries. The battery that I received from Amazon appears identical to the battery that came with my Motorola Droid phone, including the hologram labeling that is printed on the bottom of the battery.

My Droid can last a whole day on one charge if I use only the phone features. If I use the internet or media or GPS features heavily, then the battery can last less than 8 hours. Fortunately, the Droid does allow you to easily pop in a spare battery.

I found the battery did not have all the markings that the batter from Verizon or from Motorolla had. And this battery only lasted 3 months. You wrote your review in Mach, how well has it lasted?

Final Stage says:
This is NOT a genuine Motorola Battery - I work in this industry directly with manufacturers. This is a knock-off Chinese made cell that has been labeled and marketed well for people like you. Regardless, if you're happy with the product good for you; but don't mislead people by saying it's "genuine."

The levels of counterfeit skill varies with these motorola batteries. Some of them have the hologram sticker but if you look closely at it, it doesnt quite match the true motorola batteries. I have had poor luck with the knockoffs. I am sure there may be good quality fakes (quality and performance) out there but I dont know how you can tell. My two year old real motorola bp6x works better than the chinese fake copies. Still looking for a decent bp6x replacement with 1420mah or better that fits.
