Sturdy Multifunction Timepiece,
This review is from: Invicta Men's 0980 Bolt Reserve Chronograph Gunmetal Dial Black Polyurethane Watch (Watch)
I collect watches, and am picky about quality and features. This Invicta is built like a tank, I expect many years of it. This particular timepiece has complications normally only found in watches many times the price. If you desire a watch with a chronometer function, I highly recommend this model as it counts up to 12 hours, most inexpensive chronometers only measure up to 30 or 60 minutes. The day and date functions are well placed and easy to read, this is another great element of this watch's design. You can also "pause" the chronometer so that you can get an exact (the watch measures 10th's of seconds as well) reading, then depress the reset button and the chronograph will fast forward to the elapsed time and continue to run displaying the correct time since the chronometer was started. The overall design of this watch is eye catching, everyone who sees it likes it. I have a two Rolexes, a Submariner, and a Datejust, and I find myself wearing the Invicta instead due to the number of features and the striking design, much fancier than the plain Rolex design.
The only problem which I feel should be mentioned is that a couple of months after I got the watch, the white paint on the numbers of the bezel flaked off, I cleaned out the remaining white paint and used some red enamel paint to repaint the numbers, the red color sets my watch apart from others and looks great, but not everyone can do this type of maintenance, and the watch would have to be returned for repair, or you could live with black bezel numbers.
Otherwise the quality of this watch is very high, Swiss made, design elements like the cable around the bezel demonstrate the thoughtful design and high quality materials that make this a sturdy, massive, handsome, accurate timepiece with many useful features, particularly the coaxial dial that measures 30 minutes and hours, by looking at the hour display you can tell if you are measuring the first or second 30 minutes since start of the chronograph. It is rare to find a watch that uses this movement that tells Day, Date, Running Seconds, Chronograph Seconds, Tenths of Seconds, Minutes, and Hours, with a rotating bezel for measuring elapsed minutes in addition to regular timekeeping function.
In my opinion, this is one of the finest Invicta watches, and if you want a great timepiece at a reasonable cost that has "complications" usually only found on watches costing many times more, then this is the watch for you. I think that if you only have only one watch, this would be a great choice, it does everything except moonphase. It is very high quality, heavy, well designed, and feature packed, I don't think you would be disappointed if you purchase this timepiece.
