A bit Flimsy and non-uniform slices,

This review is from: Jaccard Hand Held Dual Direction Mandolin Slicer (Kitchen)
I really wanted a ceramic bladed hand slicer that would rival my board-propped, metal-bladed mandolin, just for convenience. I was disappointed with this slicer because the plastic base is far too flexible to allow for even somewhat uniform slices. (Not looking for micrometer thickness uniformity, just reasonably the same.) I'm also concerned that the plastic base is going to crack soon due to the flexing it's doing with things like carrots. And, when I attemped to slice hard salami, it shredded the meat, showing me that this particular ceramic blade isn't even as sharp as my metal one. So now, this slicer sits in the back of a bottom drawer, waiting for me to give to someone who just needs something for rare use and, since it'd be a free gift, doesn't care if it breaks. My standards are higher than what this slicer offers.
