1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing but trouble, March 11, 2014
This review is from: HP Pavilion 11-e115nr Touchsmart 11.6" Touch Screen AMD Elite Quad-Core A6-1450 / 4GB DDR3 / 320GB HD / Webcam & Microphone / Windows 8.1 / Energy Star (Personal Computers)
Mine came with a bad video driver that caused the laptop to crash. Screen would freeze and go dark while the power stayed on. If I could get it into safe mode (about one in every five or six boots) it wouldn't crash. Uninstalling the bad AMD video driver in favor of the generic Windows driver would also work for a time, but then AMD software would reinstall the crap driver and laptop would crash again. At the time I'm writing this there is no updated AMD video driver that might fix the problem. Was never able to make recovery disks due to crashes, I now have a half dozen DVD coasters. Tried to make recovery disks in safe mode but HP Recovery Manager said my battery wasn't installed. When I contacted HP support the website said my warranty had expired. I ordered the laptop less than two weeks ago! Needless to say it's going back. There's a reason why this quad-core laptop is being sold so cheap. I like the look and feel of the HP Pavilion line and may spend the extra $50 to get the next model up. I'd recommend you steer clear of this one though.

Thanks for your response. The laptop has been returned. As I mentioned in my review I like the basic look and feel of the unit, and may try a different model in this line.

Hp is Known for bad gpu. IT isn't the driver that is causing it. The gpu is bad. Bad soldering job. They wanted a extra $50.00? They should of given you that for free, This was thier end at fault. Other company like sony extended the gpu failure on their warranty. This is due to the chipset over heating issue. This is why i tell my customers to stay away from Hp products.

If you want a good laptop with good spec for the $. Get a levono brand. But their customer service really suck, they treat you like it is trash day

I've been using hp laptops and desktops for years and never having any issues.
Yeah, from time to time your gonna get a bad one. That's the way all el-cheapo Chinese electronics are. The lenovos and HPs probably came from the same Chinese company just paid to put the name of two different brands on there
