This well-constructed Thule messenger bag uses quality fabric, and looks nice. The stitching is clean and well-done.
The bag has two main compartments, with the front being roomier than the back compartment. The front compartment has a flap that you can secure or loosen by sliding the lightweight metal buckles at the bottom left- and right-hand corners of the flap sideways. Flipping over the flap, you'll first find a panel of three small pockets, with the central one especially toughened to help protect a small and slender electronic device (MP3 player, cell phone, etc.). At the immediate back of this panel is a zippered pocket roomy enough for a small purse or anything about the size of, say, a movie DVD protective case. Inside the front compartment itself, there is an additional zippered pocket at the top half of the compartment.
The back compartment is zippered at the top, and has two velcro'ed dividers, dividing the compartment into three sections; the outward facing one being the roomiest. The immediate outside of the back compartment contains some protective padding -- probably not enough by itself in my opinion -- for what you decide to put into the back compartment.
You can put your 15-inch laptop into either of the bag's compartments, but for convenience during airport security screenings, put it in the back compartment and leave the compartment unzippered for the duration of the screening.
The wide shoulder strap is adjustable but not removable from the bag. It is cushioned and feels comfortable.
The bag handle is small, uncushioned, and feels flimsy.
