5.0 out of 5 stars Insanely beautiful music and packaging, November 13, 2012
This review is from: The Beatles Stereo Vinyl Box Set (Vinyl)
So many people say so many stupid things about this band. But this box set is filled with love and put together with love, and if you don't get that, you never really "got" the Beatles.

I've been collecting beatle vinyls since 1964. I aLso have 12 different box sets including Japanese uk mofi etc. and I resent the fact that you said "you never really "got" the Beatles if you dont have the 2012 box set. I happen to have a alot of multiple variations of Beatle Lps from around the world.

M. Rosin says:
It's not essential for you to buy this 2012 set if you don't want it. But some of the stupid comments here -- people attacking the set because of their own particular audiophile bias and giving this set 2 or 3 stars -- are just ridiculous and insulting to the legacy of the band. This set was meticulously put together and the folks at Abbey Road had reasons why they made the audio decisions they did. It's not like there is one right way to do this. And to give the set 2 stars because you preferred a different approach tells me that fan didn't "get" the beatles.

Ralph, M. Rosin didn't say you need to get this box set to "get" the Beatles. As I read it, he (or she) was saying that if you don't get the fact that the set "is filled with love and put together with love," then you don't get the Beatles. It was a rebuke of the negative comments seen in many of the reviews.

I have always "got" the Beatles. They have that special thing that when I hear their music I get no other feeling from any other artists. They had it and still have it. I do not have this box set yet but if I can I will get it. It does not matter what format I hear these guys (transistor radio back when I was a kid, the am radio in my dad's car, my cheap little plastic record player in the early 70s or the 8-track in my car as a teen, up to present today) it always sounds like a different level then any other band or singer. In Baseball it is always said there is Babe Ruth and then everybody else, well there is The Beatles and then everybody else. 'nuff said.

Yea, I feel the same way. But really - The Beatles sounded great on original vinyl, they didn't osund quite as good on the original Parlophone CDs, they sounded like the original LPs again on the long-box "American cover" issues of the CDs, they sounded great on the remixed stereo CD box set, and they sounded really great on the remixed mono CD box set. They never sounded better than they did in the Dolby 5.1 remixes that were made for "Love".

And now, I'm supposed to believe they'll sound differently on the digital master vinyl stereo LPs (to be followed by the digital master vinyl mono LPs next year)? Please.

Hey - Paul McCartney just texted me. He said "U nvr gv me yr $". I texted back: "Dm rite LOL".
