Metal. On a potholder. Good idea?,
This review is from: Pretty Little Potholders (Pretty Little Series) (Hardcover)
For the most part this book should have been called 'Pretty Little *DECORATIVE* Potholders.' Too many of them have items on them that are fairly incompatible with a hot pan. The aforementioned metal hanger on the sweater potholder, beading on another, and plastic buttons on several.
Still, despite that (you can always leave those bits off or substitute some appliqué or lace) there are some very clever and cute potholders featured. The butterfly is adorable (minus the buttons), and the recipe card one is very clever (minus the button). The instructions took a second reading and a good hard look at the picture to decipher on a few of them (admittedly, the butterfly is one of the more complicated ones) but the slight frustration is worth it. And, yes, some of them are a little finicky, but I think the end result would definitely be worth it.
Perfect for a person with a lot of scraps who's in need of some nice, but quick, presents.

Smeddley---for some reason your newest reviews are not being noted on my profile page so I'm just catching up on these. You write such good reviews I'm not going to leave a comment for each one, I'm just going to give you big ole helpful votes.
By the way, in the sewing community pictures below this comment, what in the world is the blonde with sunglasses? A picture of a commenter? Maybe just a bad picture reproduction? It really does look odd.

It's weird, Amazon changed the profile page I see on one computer, but not on the other. I keep meaning to set up the RSS feeds for all of my Amazon friends to show up in my live feeds, but I haven't even been around enough to review or comment the last week(s?) let alone get any of that set up yet... (and thanks for the votes - I really need to catch up on y'alls reviews, see if there are any great books I need to bump up on my 'to read' pile! You guys always find some good ones for me!)
I think that picture is someone doing a Cousin It imitation and using it as their profile picture. I have to admit, I have long enough hair there are a few pictures of me like that floating around - hey, it's a cheap and easy Halloween costume! :D
