Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Windows 8.1 Pro System Builder OEM DVD 64-Bit (Software)
I would have just bought another copy of Windows 7 pro. The performance increase and visual improvement of direct x 11 was the only reason I upgraded to Windows 8. There is a very slight improvement in performance, but it was not worth the tradeoff of the super annoying UI. Even after following every tips, tricks, guide, and guru site on the web it takes twice as many clicks to get to what I want.
Stick with 7

"Stick with 7" Yup, that's what I'm doing. 7 is by far the best Windows OS out there even with 8 & 8.1 trying to take over the PC market. Only thing is I wish there was a version of windows 7 that included Microsoft office but that would make it worth $100 to $150 more. I just use LiberOffice 3.5 which is the same as Microsoft 0ffice and its free and has no viruses, mail ware, etc. during install. Also most of the apps in the touch screen environment are useless in 8 & 8.1. I only would use the internet, mail, and Netflix app if I had windows 8 in the touch screen environment. (at least they brought back the start button in the task bar in 8.1 desktop environment)
