1.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Laptop But Horrible Price... So much that it makes it a horrible choice..., November 15, 2013
By
This review is from: Apple MacBook Pro ME866LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop with Retina Display (OLD VERSION) (Personal Computers)
Awesome, beautiful but overpriced 13 inch laptop!!!
Why is it so expensive? Not worth it. That's my opinion and people should really consider other brands.
Apple is nothing but a big corporation now. The only thing they want is to get better revenue on everything and if they can get away with charging 1800 dollars for a 13 inch laptop... oh yeahh they will. So don't let them!!!! Please!!! Even if you are a big fan!!!
Of course, there is quality here, but you can get similar for much less. Retina, i7, nVidia, SSd, big battery life, aluminum body. Awesome, but not for this price. Fair price? 999.00
Trust me on that, If you make no more than 200K/year. Don't buy this, and don't let your son, grandchild, niece, or whoever talk you in to it, cause is not worth it...
Right now the only thing they are interested as a business are their chair prices. So if we don't buy, trust me, prices will go down. Back to fair... Thanks for reading...

So ... I take it you didn't actually buy a MacBook Pro before treating all of us to your wisdom and keen insight?

You say you can get a laptop similar to the rMBP for much less, but every time someone makes such a boast, they also fail to cite an example that actually compares to the rMBP in every way and is cheaper, when they cite any example at all. $999 would indeed be a great price for such a laptop, but there are no such laptops for $999.

There are Apple products that are overpriced for what they are: iMacs, iPod Touches, the Mac Pro, the Thunderbolt Display, etc.

This? Find me a PC at this price or lower with a beyond 1080p screen and all SSD drive. I don't think there is one-yet.

I always say you get what you pay for. As adults I think we all know how to gather the information, equipment, perks etc and decide if its too much. I like reviews from those who actually BUY and USE the product. Other than that its an opinion and we know opinions are like....

I have had my Mac Book for 5 years now with no problems. A friend was in the market at the same time for a new laptop and didn't want to pay the price of a Mac. He is currently on this third Windows laptop so in the long run which is the cheaper way to go?

These fake "review" trolls are a plague on Amazon. They rush in to post one-star comments simply because they don't like a company or an operating system. Get a life people.

Same specs and almost $1000 cheaper at the moment.
The 2560x1600 screen is probably pointless for such a small screen. That would only be necessary/noticeable for 26+ inch. monitors
