Only $9.99 at the Apple Store Why Pay More Here,
This review is from: MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter (Personal Computers)
The magsafe to magsafe2 adapter is only $9.99 at the apple store. Why are they asking more here? I bought the adapter at the Apple store when I picked up my new MBPwRD. If you like any Apple enthusiast, you will be in the store soon anyway.

The price is the same here, but no tax. So depending on where you are, its cheaper.

When I posted this comment the price was 12.99. Thankfully someone saw the price and dropped the price here.

And if you spend more than $40 at the Apple Store you get free shipping, rather than the $3.99 shipping. Anyone can sell these magsafe to magsafe2 adapters on Amazon. I can go to the Apple Store, buy a bunch of them for $9.99 (with free shipping if I buy more than 3), and turn around and sell them for whatever I can get on Amazon. I've sold on Amazon before, it's just like Ebay. What is interesting is that the typical Amazon customer doesn't realize this. They either think Amazon owns everything that is sold on the site, or think you have to be a big company like J&R Music and Amazon polices these sellers stringently. Neither is the case. Any individual can sell anything they want to for any price they can get suckers to pay for it. ALWAYS check other online sources before you buy ANYTHING on Amazon (or Ebay)!! Thousands of counterfeit items are sold on the Amazon site. Buyer beware!

But was it Prime before, at the $12.99 price? Now it's $9.99 plus $6.92 shipping cost, which equals to $16.91 all together. Amazon sellers are tricky!
