More than the good stuff that I expected...,
This review is from: Three Days Grace (Audio CD)
Being a fan of music in general, I am always willing to try new albums. I like anything that enhances my range of ecclectic styles and influences (as an aspiring singer, this is important) Three days Grace is an inspiration all in its own category. Sure, it is alternative rock and features the typical ho-hum angst driven vocals... at least that is what I thought at first. What got me hooked onto them was their song on the "Cursed" soundtrack and when I saw this album, I had to buy it. Well, the song I had as a preview paled in comparison to the content of this album, which is full of powerful, thought provoking lyrics. "Just Like You" is a song that boasts the ability to be anyone else, but sticking to just being who you are. "I Hate Everything About You" is comical to listen to and indicative of the power of opposites attract. Love hurts and love is confusion... at least that is the message I got from the song. I love the vocals and the guitar playing. It isn't typcal... it posseses a melodic charm to it. The same can be said for the rest of the album. Each song offers something similar but also something different. It made this album all the more fun for me to listen to in the comfort of my own car. Three Days Grace may be rockers for sure, but their name indicates grace as well... of which this remarkable trio posseses. I am glad I took the chance. This may be my best music purchase yet.
