Good Bang for your Buck,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Samsung HW-F355 2.1 Channel 120 Watt Wired Audio Soundbar (2014 Model) (Electronics)
This is a pretty good sound bar. It will not replace a full fledged 7.1 system, but it will sound much better then your flat screen's normal speakers. It has an optical input, normal audio in, and Blue-Tooth, so you have a few connection options. I am happy with my purchase.

I have a basic 40" Samsung and its sound is insipid. The set has no external speakers. Can this unit be hooked up to help me get decent sound?

Yeah it will give better sound than your TV that is for sure. I have mine hooked up to my 60", and I like the sound much better. If you have an optical out, that will work the best.

I have a basic question for anyone willing to take it on...... How does Bluetooth figure into all this? I only know I use one with my phone. I just installed a 40 inch Samsung Smart TV myself and I am overwhelmed with what it can do... I managed to get all the connections right with cable service and DVD and it works (yay). I just want to understand what Bluetooth does for a TV before I upgrade to a sound bar (which I had never heard of until two days ago). Thanks.... Jan

Seeing no reply, Jan, I will take a stab, only because my TV is not smart but a Samsung top of the line TOC yada yada from 2008, but I have been reading up on sound bars. Blue tooth comes in for a way the sound bar connects with the wireless, separate bass. It can also allow you to link your phone to play your phone music library through the sound bar. Anyone with first hand knowledge that can help Jan?

Does anyone know if you can connect a laptop to the sound bar? If so what are the connection methods?
